This was an amazing way to experience Sicily. The Siciclando team are extremely professional and friendly. I can easily recommend a tour with them. A highlight for us was Paulo’s beautiful food at B&B Rocca Dei Capperi. Yum!!!!!

We have been on dozens of bike tours over the past 30 years and the four tours we have done with Siciclando in Sicily and Basilicata (Italy) are amongst the very best ever. Giuseppe Crino (Mr. Siciclando) is a fine gentleman and even more, he offers some of the best planned bike trips anywhere. Sicily and southern Italy are outstandingly beautiful in the Spring with wildflowers, deserted country roads, excellent accommodations and superb food. Siciclando offers tours for groups as small as 2 people. My wife and I have done two of these cycling all by ourselves, but always with an emergency number to call. We have also been on two trips with 20 participants run through our bike club (BAC) and these have been given rave reviews by all. If you love cycle touring, visit Sicily before it gets ‘discovered.’

Excellent communications, personal welcome and service, very good bikes, a wonderfully eclectic mix of accommodations (nearly all small, family run), mainly very good, welcoming and comfortable. (If you want predictable chain hotels and satellite TV, go elsewhere). Some truly memorable meals and lovely characters in agriturismos. Road books fine – realistic route and difficulty descriptions with plenty of cultural additions for interest and great refreshment recommendations! Small ‘hiccups’ dealt with efficiently. We’ve been to Sicily twice (self-guided) with this company and LOVE the island, especially the interior, and their approach. Although we had one day with a really grotty choice of route last year we’re still giving them 5 stars – we told them they made a mistake. We love Giuseppe and the Darios! What makes them different: They are all cyclists and they are exceptionally proud of Sicily. You aren’t dealing with a ‘blanket’ company which just buys tours from other people. These guys are the real deal.

Siciclando and particularly its leader, Giuseppe Crino, provided the best biking vacation that any of our group of 4 couples have ever experienced (and we’ve all been on multiple tours with the big, name-brand operators). The food was out of this world. Sicily’s scenery and roads are incredible and the accommodations charming. What put the trip over the top was it owner/ride leader Giuseppe. Besides being on top of every detail, his charm, sense of humor and friendship made this a most memorable trip. We recommend Siciclando to anyone who asks. When I first read the Siciclando web site I was moved by the passion that the owners have for their country, for biking, and for the experience they offer. It was inviting, the idea of exploring quieter places of Italy by bike. I was reassured of my choice even before the tour when questions and logistical concerns were handled quickly and professionally by co-owner, Dario Carzan. On tour, I realized the words from their web site went much deeper; their words are really their promise to each guest. They love what they do and they sincerely want to share their passion. The guides were exceptional and are attentive to every detail – good bikes, quiet routes, beautiful towns/accommodations, and wonderful picnics. Dario was one of our guides and made the tour very special. One day he (carefully) prepared prickly pear cactus fruit growing along side the road and on another day he translated stories from an Italian man who had lived seventy years in a hill top village where we biked. Each day of the tour brought wonderful memories and simple pleasures that made me appreciate the trip and my everyday life much more. Grazie Siciclando!

The hotels, inns and farm houses were very nice, the food and wine was incredible, and the scenery was gorgeous. We were lucky to see so many wild flowers along our routes. I’ve done several tours with Siciclando to Sicily and the Basilicata region of Italy. The routes were very scenic and the towns along the way were interesting. The cycling was challenging at times but not intimidating. The accommodations and the meals included in the tours were very, very good for the tour price. This is not Butterfield and Robinson where they pamper you. I’ve cycled with Ciclismo Classico and Siciclando provides comparable touring but at a much lower cost.
